South Carolina to Introduce New License Plate Design
South Carolina is phasing out its current license plate design for a new look in 2026.
The new standard design will feature a patriot planting the Moultrie flag to the left of the plate number, with the phrase "Where the Revolutionary War Was Won" above.
The "Where the Revolutionary War Was Won" plate will become the standard plate option for South Carolinians on January 1, 2026.
The plate was designed by the South Carolina American Revolution Sestercentennial Commission, a nonpartisan group celebrating the Palmetto State's role in the American Revolution.
It replaces the "While I Breathe, I Hope" plate featuring South Carolina's palm tree and crescent design seen on the state flag.
The new design is part of a celebration of the state's role in the American Revolution.
