Bay Area Native Climber Makes History with Ski Down Mount Everest's North Face
Walnut Creek native Jim Morrison has become the first person to ski down Everest's most challenging route, the Hornbein Couloir.
Morrison and filmmaker Jimmy Chin discussed this achievement, which marks a historic journey for the climber.
For most climbers, summiting Everest is a significant accomplishment, but for Morrison, it was only the beginning, as he went on to ski down the narrow and steep gully, over 1,100 feet below the mountain's summit, on October 15.
Morrison's trek to the top of Mount Everest's north face was just the start of his historic journey.
