Lagos Reintroduces 61-Day Amnesty Window for Buildings Without Planning Permits
The Lagos State Government has announced a 61-day amnesty period for existing buildings without planning permits.
This initiative, which will run from November 1, 2025, to December 31, 2025, aims to encourage property owners to regularize their buildings and obtain planning permits without paying the expected penalty.
This is not the first time the government has introduced such an initiative, having done so about 17 months prior.
According to the Lagos State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development, property owners can perfect their planning permits on completed buildings during this period.
