India's new ODI vice-captain Shreyas Iyer is expected to be out of action for at least 3 weeks after sustaining an injury.
Iyer hurt his left rib cage while taking a catch during the third ODI in Sydney on Saturday.
Shreyas was taken to the hospital for scans during the match itself. As per initial diagnosis, there has been a jerk and he will have to be out of action for minimum three weeks.
His availability for India's first ODI against South Africa on November 30 is uncertain.
Iyer will report to the Centre of Excellence upon his return.
