Heather Humphreys, Fine Gael candidate, has officially conceded the Irish presidential election, expressing pride in her campaign.
“She will be our next president.”
Speaking at the Count Centre in Ballyhaise, Humphreys acknowledged the outcome and extended her formal congratulations to Catherine Connolly.
Humphreys reflected on her campaign, saying:
“I visited every county and gave it everything. But I enjoyed it”, emphasizing the personal fulfillment she found in engaging with voters nationwide.
She highlighted the importance of civic participation, noting it is vital for people to put their names forward and contribute to the democratic process:
“Politics is about putting your name on the ballot—if you win, you win; if not, it’s rejection. I knew what I was doing, and I’m glad I did it”.
