Farewell for SA Ambassador Nathi Mthethwa in KwaMbonambi
South Africa will bid farewell to its Ambassador to France, Nathi Mthethwa, with an official Category 2 funeral in Dondotha.
Preparations have been finalized for the funeral, which will take place at the Siyabonga Sangweni Sports Complex, starting at 9am.
The late ambassador died in Paris last week and his body was repatriated on Friday, transported to a mortuary in Empangeni before being taken to the Mthethwa homestead.
A night vigil was held throughout the night, as relatives, friends and community members gathered to pay their last respects.
A cleansing ceremony was also held outside the homestead, led by the Nazareth Baptist Church, due to the manner of the ambassador's passing.
