Los Angeles - Rickard Rakell, a top liner and scorer, is not a typical penalty killer. He tallied a career-high 35 goals last season.
Filip Hallander, a fellow Swede, was finding his game as a top-line winger. In the Penguins' 4-2 win over the LA Kings, Rakell earned an assist on Hallander's first NHL goal.
Hallander became the latest Penguins rookie to score his first NHL goal, following Harrison Brunicke and Ben Kindel. Despite being outplayed, the Penguins were tied 2-2 in the third period.
Rakell seized an opportunity for a shorthanded two-on-one with Hallander, but his shot hit the crossbar.
