Donegal-based air ambulance could save lives - Senator Boyle - Donegal Daily

Air Ambulance in Donegal Could Save Lives

Donegal's geographic isolation increases the need for an air ambulance station to improve emergency response times, according to Senator Manus Boyle.

Donegal is simply too isolated not to have its own dedicated EAS air ambulance. Our communities are spread across vast rural areas, and the nearest major trauma centres can be hours away. In critical emergencies, that time can be the difference between life and death.

Senator Boyle has consistently raised this issue at the Oireachtas Health Committee, highlighting the disparity in accessing emergency medical services in Donegal.

A dedicated Emergency Aeromedical Service (EAS) in the county could significantly improve response times and save lives.

Author's summary: Donegal needs air ambulance service.
