Canal+, the new parent company of MultiChoice, plans to merge Showmax, DStv Stream, and its own Canal+ online service into a single streaming app.
“We want to make it as convenient and pleasant as possible for our subscribers to access all this great content — both global and local,”
Maxime Saada, CEO of Canal+, confirmed the merger as part of a strategy to strengthen the company’s global position and compete with Netflix, Disney+, and Amazon Prime Video.
The goal is to create a “super app” that combines African and international entertainment on one unified platform, simplifying access to content for millions of subscribers.
