Are Classic Cars as Good as We Remember Them?
The question of whether classic cars live up to our nostalgic memories is a intriguing one. Were the '80s and '90s truly the epitome of driving thrill, or were they viewed through rose-tinted glasses?
A recent test by evo Eras provided an opportunity to revisit six iconic '80s cars on perfect roads and in crisp spring weather. As the youngest member of the team, the author had the chance to drive these cars for the first time and assess whether they truly were as great as their more senior colleagues remembered.
Turns out they might have been; I don’t think I’ve ever seen them smile so much on a shoot.
Although the classic cars may not deliver the same level of excitement as modern vehicles, they are demanding and rewarding in their own way. To get the best out of them, effort and skill are required, and their unique characters can be experienced even at slower speeds.
