Marine Communications Experts Compete in Thunderstruck
Squads of Marine communication experts participated in Thunderstruck, a first-of-its-kind contest of field radio and combat skills.
A team of four Marines competed in a six-mile track, carrying radios and demonstrating their skills.
The competition, hosted by 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing, aimed to test teams of Marines operating radios, networks, and communications gear.
The Thunderstruck Communications Team Competition
was won by a team of communications specialists from the headquarters regiment of 1st Marine Logistics Group, emerging from among 15 squads.
The event was run by Marine Wing Communication Squadron 38, led by its commander, Lt.
