Walton's Naze Cliffs Under Threat from Erosion

A recent landslide at Walton's Naze cliffs has highlighted the challenges faced by campaigners in preventing the area's disappearance into the sea.

A large section of the cliffs collapsed onto the beach last Tuesday, with overhead drone images taken by Naze campaigner Peter Clements showing the extent of the damage.

Bits of cliff are falling all the time and there might be a big slip every three years or so - it is unpredictable

According to David Eagle, chair of the Naze Protection Society, the erosion rate of the Naze has doubled in the past ten years, from 1.5 meters per year in 2010 to 3 meters per year currently.
