The Bathurst 1000 race saw intense moments as two champion drivers collided in "wild" scenes. The Canberran contingent was fighting to conquer Mount Panorama in the 161-lap race.
Brodie Kostecki started as the favourite in pole, with Cameron Waters in second. However, both drivers squandered their strong starts as the day unfolded.
