Postal Service Delays Impact Newspaper Business

Subscribers are experiencing delays of up to two months in receiving their newspapers, further complicating the already challenging newspaper industry.

A recent incident at the office of Jill Friesz, owner of GS Publishing in North Dakota, highlights the frustration. A man visited her office, expressing his anger and disappointment with the constant delays. Friesz noted that this subscriber was not alone in his frustration, stating:

I have so many frustrated people that call and just say, ‘Well, there’s no point in me getting the newspaper because it never gets delivered to me.

GS Publishing operates seven weekly newspapers in southwestern North Dakota, and Friesz has been dealing with numerous complaints about late deliveries.
