The Minnesota Incident Command System has identified the cause of the Crosby Fire as a lightning strike.
On Friday, active northwest winds made the fire moderately active, and it grew to 260 acres. Firefighters made progress establishing a handline along the west and east sides of the fire's perimeter, utilizing natural features to secure the control line.
Water-scooping aircraft and a helicopter supported ground efforts by dropping water to cool and slow the flames. Plans include establishing a hose lay on the east side to improve water access and continuing handline construction along uncontained perimeter sections.
Firefighters continue to work on containing the fire, with support from aircraft and helicopters.
