A retired Army officer has been sentenced to nearly six years in prison for conspiring to transmit classified information about Russia’s war with Ukraine.
David Slater, a 64-year-old former lieutenant colonel, pleaded guilty in July to a count of conspiracy to disclose national defense information.
Slater had top secret clearance at his job at the U.S. Strategic Command at Offutt Air Force Base in Nebraska.
