African Development Bank President Pledges Deeper Cooperation with Key Constituency
African Development Bank Group (www.AfDB.org) President Sidi Ould Tah met with finance ministers from The Gambia, Ghana, Liberia, Sierra Leone, and Sudan. The meeting focused on reinforcing partnerships and collaboration with these key stakeholders to support the continent's development agenda.
The president emphasized the importance of “strengthening ties and aligning efforts” between the bank and member countries to accelerate economic growth and address challenges like poverty, infrastructure gaps, and regional integration.
“Our cooperation must deepen to deliver impactful projects that catalyze sustainable development across Africa,” Tah stated during the discussions.
This engagement reflects the bank’s ongoing strategy to maintain close dialogue with national governments and financial authorities to ensure that investments meet local priorities and maximize benefits for the people.
The ministers shared their perspectives on financing needs and operational challenges, highlighting areas where the bank’s support could be enhanced, such as capacity building, social development programs, and climate resilience initiatives.
