Red Sox Sign Free Agent Who Made MLB Debut with Blue Jays
Boston Red Sox have added a familiar name from the AL East to their roster. The team signed infielder Vinny Capra, who began his professional career with the Toronto Blue Jays organization.
Capra was selected by Toronto in the 20th round of the 2018 MLB Draft. After several years in the minors, he made his Major League debut for the Blue Jays in 2022. Over parts of two MLB seasons, he appeared in limited action but demonstrated steady defense and strong versatility across the infield.
Before joining the Red Sox, Capra spent time in the Milwaukee Brewers system after being traded from Toronto. With his new opportunity in Boston, he will look to compete for a utility role heading into spring training.
