Fanning laughs, referencing the much-imitated flash mob scene from the 2024 Netflix hit The Perfect Couple with Nicole Kidman.
“There were also more laughs to The Perfect Couple. I think that this [All Her Fault] leans in more to the thriller aspect of it all.”
According to the actress, the new project embraces its mystery roots, focusing on suspense rather than humor. She notes how audiences are drawn to the thrill of piecing together clues.
“What we’ve all learned is viewers really love mystery and trying to figure out who is a part of it … That really unites an audience.”
Admiration for Sarah Snook
In All Her Fault, Fanning stars with Sarah Snook, whom she has long admired since Snook’s award-winning role in Succession.
“Sarah, in real life, is just amazing. She’s such a talented actor and really a down to earth, grounded, fun person to be around.”
Although their schedules kept them busy on set, Fanning acknowledges how important it is for Snook to take time away from the spotlight.
“She was working so much that we didn’t hang out too much off the set. I think it’s been really important for her to recharge and refuel and be with her family.”
About the Series
All Her Fault is based on Andrea Mara’s novel and follows Marissa Irvine, a distraught mother portrayed by Snook, whose child disappears during a playdate. The eight-part series was filmed in Australia and explores the emotional cost of loss and truth-seeking.
