Democratic mayoral nominee Zohran Mamdani and his wife, Rama Duwaji, cast their votes in the New York City mayoral election on Tuesday, November 4.
Mamdani, a 34-year-old democratic socialist, is running against 67-year-old Andrew Cuomo, a Democrat running as an independent, and Republican nominee Curtis Sliwa, 71.
President Donald Trump threatened to hold back federal funds to the city if Mamdani wins the mayoral election.
Polls closed first in Virginia at 7 p.m.
