A US delegation, led by Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, is on an official visit to Vietnam from November 2-3.
On November 2, General Phan Van Giang, Vietnam's Minister of National Defence, hosted a welcome ceremony for Hegseth and his delegation. The two sides then held talks, where Giang noted the significance of Hegseth's visit, coinciding with the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and the US (1995-2025).
The visit contributes to further strengthening the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership for peace, cooperation and sustainable development between the two countries, as well as their bilateral defence ties.
