Educators and students attended a meeting to oppose the transformation of university education to serve the corporate elite and the war machine.
Over 100 people participated in a public meeting in Sydney and online, titled "Oppose Labor's 'national priorities' university restructuring and job cuts." The meeting was called by the rank-and-file committees at Western Sydney and Macquarie universities, the Committee for Public Education (CFPE), and the International Youth and Students for Social Equality (IYSSE).
The Australian Labor government's restructuring of universities is accompanied by the destruction of some 4,000 jobs, and is connected to the dictatorial and militarist agenda spearheaded internationally by the Trump regime.
