Arbutus Ridge Golf Club: Fore the love of the game
Still accepting new members, Arbutus Ridge Golf Club in Cobble Hill is a top destination in the Cowichan Valley.
The club's history began in 1984 with a nine-hole course plan as part of the Arbutus Ridge Living Community project.
The 225-acre site was purchased in 1986 by Canadian Retirement Corporation Developments, with the golf course being the largest and most expensive aspect of the community.
The nine-hole course was designed by Bill Robinson of Cornish & Robinson and constructed between March 17, 1987, and its official opening on May 13, 1988.
By the fall of 1988, an additional 52 acres of land had been acquired by CRC Developments.
