A traffic accident in downtown Boise has turned into a police standoff, now being investigated as a possible medical emergency by the Idaho State Police.
On Thursday, shortly after 4:30, dispatchers received multiple reports of a pickup truck driving erratically on eastbound I-84. The truck struck another car and a concrete barrier before merging onto the I-184 Connector heading into downtown Boise.
The driver refused to communicate with police and exit the vehicle for over an hour, prompting a police standoff.
