FUW Welcomes Welsh Government's TB Move
The Farmers’ Union of Wales (FUW) has praised the Welsh Government's announcement on Bovine TB as a
"practical, evidence-led step".
According to the TB Technical Advisory Group, cattle previously classified as standard interpretation resolved inconclusive reactors are three times more likely to be later identified as reactors, inconclusive reactors, or slaughterhouse-positive cases.
- Cattle identified as resolved inconclusive reactors from 1 January 2026 will face lifelong movement restrictions.
- These animals can only move directly to slaughterhouses or Approved Finishing Units via licensed routes.
The FUW supports this decision as it is based on evidence and aims to control the spread of Bovine TB in Wales.
