Denji falls deeply in love with Makima, who takes control by rendering power obsolete due to her immense strength and excess blood.
Makima assigns Denji a new partner, the Shark Fiend named Beam, a massive fan of Chainsaw Man who considers it an honor to team up with him.
Denji and Makima go on a date, spending the day at the movie theater, discussing films between screenings, and Denji realizes Makima is the one who makes him feel like he has a heart.
Denji feels that his heart belongs to Makima after their date.
Later, Denji meets another beautiful girl named Reze, who works at a coffee cafe, on a rainy afternoon, while deep in thought about saving himself for Makima.
