Free Adoption Services Offered by DSWD
The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) provides free domestic administrative adoption services to qualified prospective adoptive parents (PAPs) through its attached agency, the National Authority for Child Care (NACC).
According to NACC director Imelda Ronda,
both application and processing fees are free of charge, and prospective parents do not need to hire a lawyer to adopt a child.
Domestic Administrative Adoption and Alternative Child Care Act
Under Republic Act 11642, the legal adoption process has been simplified, reducing costs and shortening waiting times to ensure a faster path to permanent placement for children awaiting adoption.
- Over 6,000 children are currently staying in DSWD-registered child caring agencies.
- Almost 2,000 children are legally available for adoption.
