As AI continues to develop, police departments and public safety agencies in Utah have started using it for reports.
In Salt Lake City, a disclaimer was noticed at the bottom of a 10-page charging document written by the San Juan County Sheriff's Office, which recently started using AI.
“We've been using it over a year,” Moab City Police Chief Lex Bell said. “We signed a contract about last October or November, and we've been utilizing it ever since for report writing.”
Chief Bell emphasized that the AI tool has been a significant time-saver and has increased accuracy in their reports.
