Tongwei doesn’t feel like a newcomer at All-Energy Australia, but rather a neighbour finally stepping onto the front porch.
Recently, the company has established its presence in Australasia by opening its Australian branch in Sydney and listing its modules on SolarQuotes and Solar Choice.
Founded in 1982, Tongwei entered the photovoltaics industry in 2006 and has since become a leading player, with No. 1 solar-cell shipments for eight consecutive years and one of the world’s largest producers of polysilicon.
Tongwei is sometimes called “the sleeping giant of solar” because it has long been a reliable supplier of materials to other brands.
Since the end of 2022, Tongwei has been fully awake, now manufacturing its own modules and completing an integrated chain from materials to high-efficiency cells to finished modules.
This integrated approach ensures tight and consistent quality control, from factory recipe to the final module that meets the roof.
