Warriors Strike Quickly to Pull Away from Blue Tide

The Jenkins Warriors secured a 49-13 win over the Long County Blue Tide on Friday night at Savannah High Stadium.

The Warriors scored five touchdowns in 13 offensive plays, taking another step towards the Region 3-AAA championship. Long County fell to 5-3 overall and 4-3 in the region, while Jenkins improved to 7-1 overall and 7-0 in the region.

A notable play was Cortney Charles' 9-yard touchdown run, which pulled the Tide within 14-13 with 27 seconds left in the first half. However, Warriors quarterback Demetrius Holloway Jr. responded with a 51-yard scoring strike to Torean Wilson, putting the Warriors ahead 21-13.

In the second half, Jenkins recovered a Tide fumble and took three plays to go 37 yards, with Ryan Scott scoring from 7 yards to stretch the lead to 28-13.

Demetrius Holloway Jr. threw for three scores and ran for another, leading the Warriors to victory.
