A New Partnership to Support People with Brain Injuries
Headway Devon, a local charity based in Exeter, specializes in helping individuals rehabilitate from head injuries. They have partnered with Thompsons Solicitors, MAPS Benevolent Trust, and the Players of the Postcode Lottery to provide support.
After a brain injury, people are often discharged home without wider support, leaving them alone after months of hospital care. As one might say:
You've spent months in hospital, in ICU, in rehabilitation with a team of clinicians around you and suddenly you're all alone.
Headway Devon works with around 100 people weekly, but many more go home alone, unaware of the charity's existence. With the new partnership, they can now provide support in hospitals.
