Affecting 42 million Americans, the federal government shutdown has delayed November SNAP benefits.
Approximately 40,000 Weld County and 20,000 Boulder County SNAP recipients will not yet receive their benefits for November due to the shutdown.
“I’ve been in numerous meetings and on many calls with local and state agencies as we stay updated on the situation and the effects a continued shutdown will have here in Colorado,” said Weld County DHS Director Jamie Ulrich.
The USDA will not be sending funds to the states during this time, having an immediate impact on recipients locally and across the country.
