AdvaMed Pleads Its Case on Medical Device Tariffs
AdvaMed wants to collaborate with the Trump administration to recognize and reward the unique strength of the U.S. medtech industry.
AdvaMed CEO and President Scott Whitaker stated that his group aims to work with the administration to implement supportive policies, including:
- seeking fair and reciprocal tariff-free trade with key allies
- addressing unfair market access barriers in specific countries
- advancing domestic regulatory reforms and procurement incentives to enhance U.S. competitiveness

AdvaMed submitted comments to Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, highlighting the domestic medtech industry's recent investments, employment growth, and R&D spending driving medical innovation.
