Overcoming LGMD Challenges with Humor
Columnist Patrick Moeschen shares his approach to dealing with everyday challenges despite his rare chronic illness, limb-girdle muscular dystrophy (LGMD).
Moeschen credits his robust sense of humor as a key factor in coping with his condition. He notes,
I think it’s a piece of my armor that protects me from my rare chronic illness, limb-girdle muscular dystrophy.
His humor is influenced by his observations of the world and people around him, as well as his upbringing in the 1980s, where he was inspired by comedies like "Monty Python and the Holy Grail" and "Spaceballs," and the comedy albums of Eddie Murphy and George Carlin.
