Israeli Airstrikes Violate Ceasefire in Lebanon
Despite a ceasefire deal in place since November 2024, Israeli airstrikes killed 1 and injured 7 in Lebanon.
According to Lebanese authorities, the Israeli army launched 12 airstrikes in southern and eastern Lebanon on Thursday.
- The southern town of Bnaafoul in Sidon was targeted by two Israeli attacks.
- An area between the towns of Roumine and Houmine in the Nabatieh district was bombed by Israeli fighter jets.
- An Israeli drone hit the town of Blida in the Marjayoun district as residents were harvesting olives.
- The districts of Sidon, Marjayoun, and Bint Jbeil in southern Lebanon, as well as Baalbek in the east, were also targeted.
Lebanon's president Aoun says the country will gradually increase the number of troops deployed south of the Litani River to 10,000 by the end of 2025.
