Carolyn Chase, 74, has been volunteering at Cap Sante Park, clearing weeds and invasive plants from the historic rock amphitheater, which dates back to 1938.
Chase, who spends about four days a week in the park, was drawn to the amphitheater because it reminded her of a "holy place" she knew in Hawaii.

Her efforts have transformed areas of the trail and amphitheater, removing large quantities of weeds and brush.
According to Jonn Lunsford, director of the Anacortes parks and recreation department, "Each volunteer has done their own thing" to help restore the amphitheater.
