Vince Gilligan, renowned creator of Breaking Bad, is back with a new Apple TV series titled Pluribus, starring Rhea Seehorn from Better Call Saul. Known for his groundbreaking work in drama, Gilligan now explores a different genre, with Pluribus receiving a perfect 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
Pluribus centers on Carol, a cynical romance novelist played by Seehorn. She is among the rare few immune to a mysterious space-born virus that connects humanity into a hive mind, causing everyone else to experience relentless happiness and generosity.
The first two episodes premiered on November 6, 2025, on Apple TV. New episodes will be released weekly until December 26, 2025.
To promote Pluribus, several award-winning actors from Breaking Bad reunited for a short teaser. The trailer modifies a scene from the pilot where Carol interacts with a government official via her TV phone, who explains the hive mind situation and plans to include her.
In the teaser, Carol instead watches a montage of people worldwide mechanically telling her:
"Your life is your own, we are sorry we upset you, and we only want to make you happy."
These individuals consistently refer to themselves as "we".
All appear briefly during this sequence, creating a nostalgic connection to Gilligan's past success.
"Pluribus' 100% Rotten Tomatoes debut showcases Gilligan's versatility beyond his iconic drama roots."
Author's summary: Vince Gilligan returns with Pluribus, a critically acclaimed Apple TV series blending his storytelling with a novel sci-fi premise, featuring beloved Breaking Bad actors in its promotional teaser.
