Wind Warning in Effect for Lethbridge and Surrounding Areas

A Wind Warning is currently active for the City of Lethbridge and many parts of southern Alberta today. Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) forecasts westerly wind gusts ranging from 100 km/h to 115 km/h.

Incident on Highway 2

Emergency crews responded to an overturned semi-trailer on Highway 2 southbound near Township Road 95A, about 5 km north of Fort MacLeod.

Officials warn, "High-sided vehicles will be pushed around by the wind, so motorists are encouraged to secure loose objects."
