The Ministry of Energy has clarified how decisions are made regarding electricity restrictions. The schedules for power outages vary depending on the current state of the energy system, which can fluctuate hourly.
Outage planning responds to many factors, including shelling damage, accidents, power shortages, and changes in consumption, especially during peak hours or extreme weather conditions.
The Ministry of Energy explains that the decision to impose restrictions can come from both NPC "Ukrenergo" and distribution system operators.
The level of restrictions depends on current energy consumption and the capacity of equipment to produce and deliver electricity.
"After massive shelling, the energy system lacks generation and/or the ability to transmit electricity due to network damage. Therefore, there is a need to limit consumption."
The Ministry highlights the complexity of balancing consumption limits with the system's operational capabilities to maintain stability.
Author’s summary: Power outage schedules shift dynamically due to hourly changes in the energy system affected by damage, consumption spikes, and operational capacity constraints.
