Thailand has taken a significant step toward creating a national drone infrastructure by launching a large-scale drone delivery pilot in Bangkok. This initiative showcases aerial deliveries organized under the event titled “The New Era of Drone Delivery.”
The pilot project was jointly organized by Thailand’s National Telecom Public Company Limited (NT), the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT), and High Lander Aviation, a global expert in unmanned traffic management (UTM) systems. Their partnership highlighted the effective coordination between telecom and aviation sectors in enabling safe drone operations within a complex urban environment.
Throughout the event, dozens of drone deliveries were completed successfully. The transported items included medical supplies, agricultural products, and consumer goods, demonstrating the broad potential of drone delivery services.
“CAAT’s role is to regulate aviation safety and promote the advancement of the aviation industry. Supporting innovation and technological development in unmanned aircraft and related systems is a key part of our mission,”
Overall, the pilot reflects Thailand’s commitment to advancing drone technology and airspace management through public-private collaboration.
