Wirral will observe a moment of silence this Remembrance Sunday as residents come together to honour those who have fallen in service.
The Mayor of Wirral, Councillor Brian Kenny, will lead the Civic Service at 10:55 AM at the Cenotaph in Hamilton Square, Birkenhead. At 11:00 AM, a two-minute silence will be observed, followed by the traditional Service of Remembrance led by Reverend Paul Bentley, Vicar of Birkenhead Priory Parish and Rural Dean of Birkenhead.
The Mayor will lay a wreath on behalf of the people of Wirral at the Cenotaph alongside Deputy Lieutenant Sue Higginson OBE DL, who will represent His Majesty The King. They will be followed by representatives from Wirral Council, the armed forces, other organisations, and relatives of servicemen lost in recent conflicts.
At the conclusion of the service, the Mayor and Deputy Lieutenant will take the salute at a march past led by 107 Field Squadron, Royal Engineers.
After the parade leaves Hamilton Square, members of the public will be able to place their own tributes at the Cenotaph.
