Davina McCall is supported by celebrity pals after cancer diagnosis

Davina McCall Shares Cancer Diagnosis

The presenter, 58, revealed on social media that after discovering a lump, she underwent a biopsy and had the cancer removed through a lumpectomy just weeks ago. Her celebrity friends, including Amanda Holden and Penny Lancaster, quickly offered their support alongside fans.

Details of Diagnosis and Treatment

In November 2024, Davina announced she was diagnosed with a colloid cyst, a rare benign brain tumour, which was surgically removed. In a video message, she emphasized that the cancer was detected very, very early, but she would still receive five days of radiotherapy in January as a precaution to ensure she remains cancer-free.

"I was very angry when I found out, but I let go of that and I feel in a much more positive place now."

She expressed gratitude towards the medical team, her family, and fiancé Michael Douglas. Captioning the video, she urged awareness: "The message here is know your boobs. Sending out huge love."

Public Revelation and Awareness Message

Davina initially shared her diagnosis during her Dine With Davina charity event in Southampton, where her revelation surprised attendees. She explained how Lorraine Kelly’s reminders to check breasts encouraged her to take action.

"Lorraine Kelly had put signs on the backs of all the doors saying 'check your breasts' and every time I went for a wee I did that. It was still there, and then one morning I saw myself in the mirror and thought ‘I’m going to get that looked at.’"
