Big Brother is watching again, and Ten has NRL rights in sight

Paramount Australia held its 2026 upfront presentation at the Big Brother house on the Gold Coast, making the show’s return to its original network a central theme. Although part of the 2025 slate, this comeback emphasizes live nominations, live evictions, and 24/7 streaming from the rebuilt Dreamworld site after the original house burned down in 2019.

The revived Big Brother promises the free-spirited energy of earlier seasons, with hopes for a smoother tone. The event highlighted Paramount and Network Ten’s renewed investment in live entertainment and nostalgic programming.

“It marks a very welcome return to the freewheelin’ Big Brother of old — although hopefully with less turkey slaps.”

Meanwhile, former Big Brother host Gretel Killeen is returning to Network Ten in a different role, hosting the third season of The Traitors. Despite carrying over the title, the new season is a full reinvention inspired by the UK version’s success.

Rodger Corser, who led the first two seasons in 2022 and 2023, will not return, as audiences showed limited engagement with earlier iterations of the show.

Author’s Summary
