Shadek-Fackenthal Library, Martin Library, and several other campus buildings remained closed through Sunday due to the outage. Peter Durantine, director of media relations at Franklin & Marshall, noted that repair crews had initially anticipated restoring power by Sunday evening.
"We apologize for the continued disruption and the inconvenience this has caused," Durantine wrote in a statement Sunday evening. "Please know that our teams are working around the clock, along with PPL Electric, to complete repairs and restore normal operations as soon as possible."
Since the restoration process took longer than expected, all classes and campus events were canceled on Monday. Efforts to restore power extended into Monday, and faculty and staff were asked to work remotely rather than come to campus.
