Legendary actress Sally Kirkland, 84, in hospice after health ordeal
Hollywood icon Sally Kirkland, aged 84, is currently in hospice care following serious health struggles over the past year. Her representative, Michael Greene, confirmed she is being treated at a Palm Springs hospital after developing dementia.
“Sally fractured four bones in her neck, her right wrist, and her left hip,” stated the GoFundMe campaign organized to help with her medical expenses.
According to the fundraiser, while recovering from these injuries, Kirkland endured two separate life-threatening infections that significantly affected her condition.
“The combination of these injuries and infections required extensive hospitalizations and rehabilitation that exceeded the 100 days covered by insurance,” the campaign explained.
Her close friend and former student, Cody Galloway, remains by her side. Greene, who is traveling from JFK to visit, said she “will not go until I’m holding her hand.”
