Walker Ready to Move Out of Comfort Zone and Make His Mark on DP World Tour

Familiarity can sometimes bring contentment. Euan Walker grew so at ease competing on the HotelPlanner Tour that it seemed almost effortless. The Barassie golfer, after four steady years on the second tier of European golf, finally earned his long-awaited promotion to the DP World Tour.

“I knew what I was playing in, I knew all the courses, the airports, hotels and how I would get there,” said Walker. “So, yes, you do get comfortable. But that doesn’t mean I didn’t want to progress.”

Walker’s perseverance paid off last weekend when he secured advancement from the HotelPlanner circuit’s rankings, marking the end of a journey filled with near misses and narrow escapes. At 30, he now faces the challenge of stepping into unfamiliar territory with enthusiasm and focus.

“I’m trying to get my head round the fact that I’m not going back to the same places and, instead, I’m planning for a new life on the main tour,” he said.

Having proven his abilities on the HotelPlanner Tour, Walker enters this new stage well-prepared for success. With two second-tier victories in 2022 and 2024 and a 2025 season defined by steady consistency rather than wins, his promotion reflects sustained progress and professional maturity. He now joins fellow Scots Daniel Young and David Law as graduates ready to make their impact on the main circuit.
