Pete Davidson and Ella Purnell have been cast in the upcoming romantic comedy That Time We Met, which WME Independent will introduce to buyers at the American Film Market next week.
The film will be directed by Nick Lieberman, known for Theater Camp, which was sold to Searchlight Pictures after premiering at Sundance in 2023. The screenplay is written by Mitchell Winkie.
Producers include Matt Jackson and Joanne Lee of Jackson Pictures, Marc Platt, Adam Siegel, and Katie McNicol of Marc Platt Productions, as well as Ford Corbett and Nathan Klingher representing Gramercy Park Media.
Gramercy’s Joshua Harris and Mark Fasano are serving as executive producers.
The plot follows a mismatched couple who intensely dislike each other after their first date but ultimately learn that their unborn child is destined to play a key role in humanity’s survival.
The project was announced at the Fairmont Century Plaza. Updates about the film’s market journey and festival appearance are expected soon.
