Kim Knor, an 86-year-old skydiver from Florida, recently completed her 999th jump and is preparing for a major milestone — her 1,000th skydive later this November in Lake Wales.
Knor began skydiving at the age of 18 in 1959, famously forging her parents’ signatures to take her first leap. After leaving the sport in 1967 to raise a family, she returned to skydiving in 2003 with a new goal: to reach 1,000 jumps.
“I started at 18 and never stopped loving the sky,” said Knor.
Upon completing her 1,000th jump, Knor will be awarded the United States Parachute Association Gold Wings, marking a rare achievement in the sport.
