Unlike most brain implants that require craniotomy, Synchron’s flagship device, the Stentrode, is implanted directly into a blood vessel on the brain's surface. This method avoids open surgery and could make the procedure accessible in standard hospitals.

Following this funding round, Synchron’s valuation nears $1 billion. This places the company as the second most valuable player in the brain-implant sector, behind Elon Musk’s Neuralink, which is valued at over $9 billion.
