Elizabeth Olsen has always appreciated Marvel enthusiasts, but she recently found a deeper connection with them after becoming a devoted Los Angeles Dodgers fan. The actress shared this realization during her appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” while promoting her upcoming film “Eternity,” in which she stars with Callum Turner and Miles Teller.
Olsen arrived dressed head to toe in Dodgers attire, proudly celebrating the team’s second consecutive World Series victory. She admitted feeling “overwhelmed” as she took her seat, realizing that members of the Dodgers team were also appearing on the same episode.
As their conversation continued, Olsen told Kimmel that her love for the Dodgers had grown only in recent years, and that it offered her a new perspective on fandom:
“In some ways, it’s been interesting because there are Marvel fans, and so I’m on the other end of that, right? And it wasn’t really until I started, like, doubling down every year on the Dodgers for the last eight years — because it’s kind of a new thing, it wasn’t my whole childhood — that I started to realize how much I am a fan of it.”
Fans, she added, have embraced her enthusiasm by gifting her creative Dodgers-themed items at comic cons, including a custom Scarlet Witch headpiece in team colors and a hand-painted Kike Hernandez t-shirt.
Kimmel then summed up her point, suggesting that Olsen now understands what Marvel fans “were all screaming about” for her—which she affirmed came from a place of love and genuine curiosity.
Elizabeth Olsen says her passion for the Dodgers gave her new empathy for Marvel fans, showing her firsthand the joy and emotion that come with true fandom.
